About

This started as a family project…

We called it Bev’s book. In our family, and I suspect in yours, one member does most of the bookkeeping while someone else does the shopping , managing family health. In our family Dennis is the bookkeeper. I have a complex mind. I use Excel spread sheets, Quicken software for bank account data. I pay some bills online, some by snail-mail, some direct debits to credit cards. It makes even me dizzy.

Bev doesn’t have a clue about all I do. So we decided I would write everything down so she could easily take over, in case, for any reason, I might not be able to do it myself.

“Any reason” includes any of a variety of issues – like dementia… or worse. We don’t like thinking of the why, just let’s do it.

Bev has a complex mind too, but on different subjects. She is amazing with all things related to nutrition. She reads and studies and compares sources for credibility. The result is a med cart from which she administers supplements to promote health and longetivity.

I don’t have a clue about what she is doing.

So she is providing a Den’s book – so I can continue her good work in case she, for any reason, is unable.

…But grew into a real book project

Writing the little books for ourselves produced benefits. The process got us noticing things like automatic debits to our accounts, going on beyond our intentions. And keeping track of passwords…

Then Bill passed away. He had provided a booklet for his wife. It helped a lot for her but it wasn’t perfect.

And we realized there is a need for showing folks how to provide a resource for family…
